I’m in such a good mood today; listening to The Police and dancing around the house.
I want to have a little old house on a big block of land, nestled in trees and flowers. It would have wooden floors painted white and only a small number of rooms; a pretty garden with an office tucked away out the back, separate from the house and hidden by trees. Jake and I would live there with our French Bulldog, Fran, and we would have our dream jobs. We’d have enough money to go travelling for months in Europe, America, the Caribbean and anywhere else our hearts desired. We’d wear nice clothes and have our friends around on the weekends. Our garden would be home to chickens and organic fruit and vegetables and we would cook together all the time. Maybe none of these things will become our reality, but we can dream and we can hope and we can strive to make them happen.
The thing I’ve learnt about love is, you can’t fully love someone until you give yourself to them completely.
And when you give yourself to them completely, you give them the power to crush you and make you fall apart at the seams.
But without giving them that power, your love can’t be whole.
The thing I’ve learnt about loving someone is, you want them to have the power to crush you, but God do you also wish they couldn’t.
